About Can a City Be Sustainable?

The Can a City Be Sustainable? project is a living online resource built to expand on the Worldwatch Institute’s State of the World: Can a City Be Sustainable? report. Launched in May 2016, the site highlights the value and opportunities of sustainable urbanism and to connect the dots across multiple urban sectors.

Drawing on data and success stories from cities worldwide, and working with key cities-focused NGOs, the Can a City Be Sustainable? project works to produce and collect urban sustainability guidance and evidence that accelerates cities’ movement toward sustainable futures.
